This page does not attempt to give links to all the sites with a waterway interest - there are others who are far more capable. However, you might wish to try some (or all) of these to whet your appetite. Of course, the web-rings on the home page also give access to many sites with a waterways content.

Inland Waterways Association This is the national body that fights for the future of our inland waterways system at both a local and national level.
Waterway Recovery Group National co-ordinating body for voluntary labour on restoration the inland waterways of Britain.
George's: Canal Boating in the U.K. and Europe This comprehensive site is an introduction for those unfamiliar with the pleasures of canal and waterway cruising, as well as a resource for the more experienced enthusiast.
National Waterways Museum This site provides an introduction to the excellent museums in Gloucester Docks, at Stoke Bruerne and Ellesmere Port - well worth visits both by net and for real.
Waterscape.com Waterscape.com aims to promote waterside travel and leisure activities in the UK. It includes ideas for days out by the water and the facility to book hotels, cottages and boating holidays.

Basingstoke Canal:
Surrey & Hampshire Canal Society
Basingstoke Canal Authority
A beautiful canal in west Surrey and northern Hampshire.
Chichester Canal A canal under restoration joining the West Sussex city to the sea. The canal formerly formed part of the Portsmouth & Arundel Canal.
Cotswold Canals A little further afield, but the Stroudwater Navigation and the Thames & Severn Canals are now to be fully restored, work having very recently started.
Kennet & Avon Canal This navigable waterway runs across southern England linking Bristol and Reading.
Titchfield Canal This site about landmarks around the Solent has a number of pages of relevance to Titchfield and its canal.
Wey & Arun Canal The Wey & Arun Canal runs through Surrey and West Sussex and when restored will link the River Wey with the south coast.
Wilts & Berks Canal A canal under restoration through the counties in its name.

NB Whisper There's information here on the technical and interior design of narrow boat Whisper, plus links to a number of other waterways-related sites.
River Itchen A learning resource covering various aspects of the River Itchen including the Navigation.
Shrewsbury & Newport Canals Trust The work of the Trust to promote restoration of the canal line from Norbury Junction to Shrewsbury; including information on the canals themselves.
Southern E-Group Within more than 650 pages, this site contains much information concerning the Southern Railway, it's predecessors and successors.
Titchfield.net This is a community web site for the village of Titchfield which has a link to our page about the Titchfield Canal.
Tripboats.com This site aims to provide the most comprehensive list of canal, river coastal trip and charter boats operating in and around the UK. This site only seems to work with Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Waterways Directory Is the comprehensive directory for all UK Inland Waterways related businesses, clubs, societies and organisations. Every entry has a web site link where available, plus a digital map and email address to help you quickly locate and contact any directory listing.
Waterways Interactive A new website which will enable you to search the UK Waterways to find the services which you will need whilst boating, fishing, walking or cycling the Inland Waterways of Britain. This site seems to be "inactive" at the moment (December 2006).
Wilderness Boat Owners Club The virtual clubhouse of the Wilderness Boat Owners Club, whose trailboats can be seen on waterways both in the UK and abroad.
Worldwide Water Web They've got gossip and goings-on for experienced boaters, useful contacts for newcomers and holiday hirers, maps and stories from right around the globe.
